In celebration of Thinking of You Week 2022, we’ve rounded up a list of nonprofits that make incredible impact through various programs and that also accept handmade greeting card donations.Â
The donated cards are sent directly to homebound elderly residents, hospitalized kids, and cancer patients or provided to service members so they can write and send a greeting card home.Â

Operation Gratitude is a nonprofit with a mission to honor the service of our Military and First Responders by creating opportunities to express gratitude.Â
They accept blank, handmade greeting cards of all kinds for service members to write and send back home to their loved ones.
City Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit with a mission provide prepared meals and social support to homebound elderly residents of New York City
They accept birthday, thinking of you, and holiday cards (with messages) to include in meal deliveries throughout New York City.
Cards for Hospitalized Kids is a charitable organization based in Chicago that was launched in March 2011 by Jen Rubino. The mission of Cards for Hospitalized Kids is to provide hospitalized children with hope, joy and magic through handmade cards.Â
They accept birthday, thinking of you, and holiday cards (with messages) to hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) across the USA.
DOROT is a nonprofit organization addressing the challenges of an aging population. They deliver a diverse range of programs and services through intergenerational connections with volunteers of all ages.
They accept handmade birthday, holiday, and caring cards, but have a specific need for birthday cards at the moment. A card from a DOROT volunteer may be the only communication an older adult receives to acknowledge their special day.

Send a Smile Today is a nonprofit with a mission to let cancer patients know they are never alone by regularly mailing uplifting greeting cards: from time of cancer diagnosis - through treatment - to survivorship. Cards are mailed monthly to ANYONE of ANY age with ANY TYPE of cancer in the United States and are meant to provide hope, love and support.Â
